Maltby’s Lilly Hall Primary School, clad in STONEPANEL™, recognised at UK awards

03 junio 2014

STONEPANEL™, the safest and most efficient stone cladding solution, was chosen for wall coating the new Maltby’s Lilly Hall Primary School in Rotherham (South Yorkshire, UK). This construction, which blends moden materials such as slate, wood and metal with the natural environment, was awarded in this year’s South Yorkshire and Humber Building Excellence Awards, achieving ‘Highly Commended’ in the ‘Best Small Community Project’ category.

Designed by James Cox of Rotherham Borough Council’s Design and Projects departments and built by local contractor George Hurst and Sons Ltd, this fantastic new facility used 400 square meters of our STONEPANEL™ Jet Dark Thin Set for exterior wall cladding.

This natural stone panel is a totally unique and stylish composition made of traditional black slate with dark blue tones. STONEPANEL™ is the only pre-assembled stone panel on the market that is backed by BBA certification in United Kingdom. It has also been awarded certificates in France (CSTB), Norway (SINTEF), Germany (DIBT), Romania (INCERC) and Spain.

STONEPANEL™, SAFE AND DURABLE

Maltby’s Lilly Hall Primary School used our patented STONEPANEL™, a built-in mechanical anchor that removes height restrictions without risk, assuring strength and durability. Taylor Maxwell, exclusive distributor of STONEPANEL™ in the UK, noted that “Rotherham Borough Council have been so impressed with the use of STONEPANEL™ that they have specified it again on their next school project!”.

This project, awarded in the South Yorkshire and Humber Building Excellence Awards, is now eligible for nomination to the national LABC (Local Authority Building Control finals) to be held in London later in the year.
