STONEPANEL™ transmits great warmth and strenght to the new Performing Arts Centre at Christ College (Brecon) in the UK. Our only pre-assembled natural stone panels, BBA certified, provide the school with a modern look.
Supplied by Taylor Maxwell, exclusive distributor of STONEPANEL™ in the UK, STONEPANEL™ SAHARA is a multicolor quartzite with brown and grey tones. Sober and rustic, the new building was designed by the architects Theatretech, in order to rebuild School’s Memorial Hall, with a new side audience and technical galleries. The improved facilities, known by its Welsh name Y Neuadd Goffa (The Memorial Hall), site perfectly in its historic surroundings.
STONEPANEL™ is an innovative stone cladding system, composed by 100% natural stones, mounted on a cement base and reinforced with lightweight glass fiber. Each stone panel is Z-shaped to avoid visible joins and can be installed up to 10 times faster than traditional masonry. This project used STONEPANEL™ that incorporates a hook in the back of each panel to remove height restrictions without risk.
ACE BUILDING CONTRACTORS
The building, designed to enhance the physical environment of the school, is suitable for both large performances and small recitals. The project, completed in 2013, includes the installation of seating and technical theatre systems, along with some painting and decorating and a few external works.
Ace Building Contractors is the main contractor on the project, the first in a series of developments that are proposed ahead of Christ College’s 475th Anniversary celebrations which are due to culminate in 2016.
